About the client
An iOS app for runners. The runner shares a live link; friends and family follow location and pace in the browser and send voice cheers that play in the runner's headphones mid-run. Built for race days and marathon training.
The challenge
Explaining a live-tracking feature is dull. The emotional payload, someone you love cheering in your ear at mile 20, is the product.
So the content had to be stories people already want to read, with the feature as the twist.
How they used doublespeed
Started with 2 accounts in Dec 2025, scaled to 10 on Mar 29, 2026 and 20 in May. Slideshow-led: 1,722 carousels against 62 videos, two posts per account per day.
Product as plot
Emotional storytime carousels where the voice-cheer feature is the twist, not the topic. The top post, a proposal through headphones at mile 25.7, did 2.1M views and 261K likes.
Warm before you scale
The first paid 10-account cycle landed on already-warmed personas with a dialed-in format: 15.1M views in 31 days on a $1,350 invoice. That is the $0.09 CPM.
Mid-size hits, not one lucky viral
15% of all posts passed 10K views and 57 passed 100K. The distribution is the strategy.

What traveled
The feature is the twist inside a story, never the headline.
CPM falls when the format is validated before the spend scales.
Re-cutting a proven story with a new opener is a second hit, not a rerun.
